Prints in the Stone. The Last Bright Light. Performer, Primary Artist. For All We Shared. Primary Artist, Mixing. Spirit of Autumn Past. Box of Tears. Dressed in Voices. Folk Rock Anthology. Go Well Diamond Heart. Live at the Boerderij. The album opens with a couple of fairly straight rockers--short, punchy songs, but then the music becomes more complex and intense, and the lyrics more poignant.

It's generally a darker sound but all the melody and Celtic influences you'd expect are still in there. It's certainly more song-oriented, and some of the tracks you'd probably say were less meandering, and hit home harder for that. All of the band's influences are in there from the obvious--Pink Floyd, Purple, Fleetwood Mac, along with moments that evoke Focus, Tull, Alan Parsons Project, ELO, Led Zep, Yes, Renaissance, and many other things no doubt, but to me it still sounds unmistakably and uniquely like Mostly Autumn, but pulling all the punches from the first four studio albums in one go, and then some.

Perhaps a little too close to be totally objective, having seen much of this stuff evolving over the last six months, and love all the band's output.

There's a big London gig planned for 22 November , with guest musicians. There will also be more dates in the autumn by which time the set is more likely to contain the bulk of the new material. The Robin 2, Bilston, Sunday 18 May I have seen Mostly Autumn live many times over the last 18 months and thoroughly enjoyed them each time.

That said, some forays into Lord of the Rings apart they have always drawn their sets from the same material. So, it was with some excitement that I ventured to the splendid Robin 2 on the promise of some material from the as yet unheard new album Passengers.

The Robin is an excellent venue--a good size with a decent light show and excellent sound. Shrinking Violet Never the Rainbow Mother Nature Bonus tracks: 1.

Which Wood? It's only a chance I've met this band. Record label announced MA as a ''band which rock fans have waited for 20 years''. Visited the band's website I was quite intrigued: 7-piece band, long hair, they looked good. Rich, powerful and, despite obvious FLOYD influences definitely their own sound, charismatic leaders, memorable songs, folk touches, good lyrics - this cocnert easily converted me to MA fan.

It was a discovery! On Friday 2nd April we all crammed in to the Leamington Assembly to witness the end of a journey, a long and inspiring road, stretching back further than thirteen years. Pass The Clock To mark 10 years of Mostly Autumn the band have put together a 3 disc album which is a stunning representation of their work over this time. Re-mastered songs beautifully presented in a package which contains 3 discs for 3 moods - Something for the Spirit Something for the Campfire Something for the Candlelight.

Apr 10,  · Mostly Autumn is energetic and does a pretty remarkable job imbuing their live performance with the same magic you find in their studio music. This is a better DVD than CD, however. It's more fun to watch the band -- not just because Heather Findlay is so pretty, but also because they are very good musicians and it's interesting to see how they /5(4).
